The Week that Changed the WorldAnn Small |

On your marks:Here is an idea that has gone down very well with one Sunday group in the Midlands. The idea is to put together a story from the Bible by threading a series of Fimo™ creations and beads on to a wire to produce a story bracelet, which will help your children to remember and retell the story to themselves and others. Get set:You will need to obtain a Fimo™ jewellery making set and equipment for your group to work with, also plenty of small beads and wire from a craft shop to make the Story Bracelets. Here are two PDF pages that together show what a finished story bracelet for Holy Week might look like. Go!As you tell a particular Bible story, line by line, invite the children to decide on a simple symbol or shape that will anchor that part of the story in their minds. Create each small piece as you go along. When all the pieces have been made and are ready, thread them on to a piece of wire with small clear beads in between each story symbol. Make this into a bracelet that will fit comfortably around the child's wrist. As an extra, maybe you could obtain some small attractive 'treasure boxes' in which the children can keep their finished craft. |
